Members of the public will use their unique abilities to pull off the most outrageous challenges imaginable, all for the chance of winning a big cash prize. But will a panel of celebrities be able to correctly place their bets on the outcome alongside the studio audience to avoid the final forfeit?

You Bet! is an anthology game show. Various members of the public bet that they can perform some kind of challenge - be it a stunt (such as driving a car through a slalom course on two wheels), a memory test (identifying songs or objects from a brief sample), or a skill (such as dribbling two basketballs over an obstacle course). The task is performed before three celebrities and 100 audience members, who will bet on the outcome of the challenge. The celebrities win points based on their correct bet and the percentage of the audience who bet correctly (for example, if the celebrity bets 'yes' on a challenge, and 79% of the audience also bet 'yes', if the challenger completes his challenge, the celebrity would get 79 points). The points of all celebrities and all correct audience responses are added together at the end of the show and multiplied. The corresponding amount of cash is donated to a charity of the winning celebrity's choice. The losing celebrity had to perform a 'forfeit', ...

You Bet Your Life is an American quiz show that aired on both radio and television. The original and best-known version was hosted by Groucho Marx of the Marx Brothers, with announcer and assistant George Fenneman. The show debuted on ABC Radio in October 1947, then moved to CBS Radio in September 1949 before making the transition to NBC-TV in October 1950. Because of its simple format, it was possible to broadcast the show simultaneously on the radio and on television. In 1960, the show was renamed The Groucho Show and ran a further year. Most episodes are in the public domain.The play of the game, however, was secondary to the interplay between Groucho, the contestants, and occasionally Fenneman. The program was rerun into the 1970s, and later in syndication as The Best of Groucho. As such, it was the first game show to have its reruns syndicated.
